Many have attempted to collect and classify the various species of facial folliclery. None have attempted to collect those collections. Well, at least not here. Until now …

These ice-block racers had the right idea. Handcar Regatta 2009 was hotter than ever. Plus, it tripled the attendees and racers from its inaugural year. If you missed it, be sure to trek on up to Railroad Square in Santa Rosa next year.

Sid Phillips from Portland’s March Fourth Marching Band.
Nicole from Vinyl Frontier. Makers of recycled record cover notebooks, melted record bowls, record clocks and more. Very cool stuff. See the rest »

Look who’s number four on the Yahoo! Most Emailed Photos gallery? It’s Frenchman and International World Beard & Moustache Championship participant, Herve Diebolt. Time to step it up for Petaluma Whiskerino. Three more weeks, folks. You’ve got time. (Thanks, Todd!)
Form and function have never been so inextricably combined. The fine folks of Tucson design studio Xylocopa have inlayed the 25 major moustache groups into one ukulele. Imagine the possibilities. See more pics. (Thanks, Rich!)
This is my suggestion. See, Conan’s asking for a new Twitter profile icon. And since I’m sure he personally responds to every geek like me, I’m presenting this from one of my favorite episodes. Yeah, I got a thang for ‘staches.
His first LA show is this Monday, June 1. Stoked!
Follow Conan on Twitter. And while you’re there, follow me
and stay on top of the Umlaut.
Nice gallery/writeup on The Pash and others in the LA Times. Look for Jack’s book coming out … any day now. Right?
