Big thanks to Mario<\/strong> at Brewed For Thought<\/a> for hookin’ up the \u00dcmlaut<\/strong> at Beer Network’s Winter Brews Fest<\/a> last Saturday.<\/p>\n

I finally got to try Uncommon Brewers<\/a> Bacon Beer<\/strong>. It was tangy, malty sweet, and even a little slick (pork fat, perhaps?). But not as bacon-y as I was dreaming for. Surprisingly subtle in the bacon dept., actually. I met the brewer, Alec<\/strong>, who gave official confirmation there is actual pork inside this brew\u2014not the pork pictured above, that was Lagunitas Brown Shugga<\/strong> -injected Hog from Sean Paxton<\/strong> The Homebrew Chef<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Moonlight Brewing<\/a> Burn Toast Ale<\/strong> smelled and tasted exactly that, but in a good way. Such a good way.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Marshal<\/strong> and\u00a0Tony Magee<\/strong> of Lagunitas<\/a> tune things up.<\/p>\n

Winner of Petaluma Whiskerino<\/a> “Best Combo Beard\/’Stache”, Shawn Spreng<\/strong>, holding a glass of Firehouse Grill<\/a> Imperial Red Ale<\/strong>. One of my favorites of the afternoon. Right up there with Valley Brewing<\/a> Decadent Darkness <\/strong>and Odonata<\/a> Rosa<\/strong> (one of two sours I’ve ever wanted to have more of).<\/p>\n
