Finally got a chance to try this elusive ale while at the Library Alehous<\/a>e in Santa Monica, who had limited stock left. It\u2019s a collaboration between Stone Brewing <\/strong>x Firestone Walker<\/strong> x 21st Amendment<\/strong>. And it’s delicious.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl Camino (Un)Real Black Ale<\/strong><\/em> is brewed with fennel seed, chia seed, and pink peppercorns\u2014with mission figs added.\u201d <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019m guessing the mission figs were one of\u00a021a<\/a>\u2019s contribution (a key ingredient in their fantastic canned Monk\u2019s Blood<\/strong>). It all comes together in an unsurprisingly rich and dark brew. Crisp with spices, chocolate, and roasted coffee flavors. Of course there’s a clear licorice finish, but also something more, almost cola-y.<\/p>\n
