Who knew Gothumentaries<\/em> were a genre?<\/h2>\n

The Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival <\/a>knew. They’re having the first ever\u00a0Gothumentary Program<\/em>\u00a0curated by doctoral Film Study candidates Papagena Robbins<\/strong> and Kristopher Woofter<\/strong>. The result are four dark films that\u00a0combine the Gothic genre\u2019s pleasures and torments of storytelling.<\/p>\n

Though we created this trailer for the Gothumentary Program<\/a> with our own dark story, the films themselves range from the disintegration of family and community, to urban decay and ruin, to mysterious and possibly unreadable evidence, to those isolated and forgotten by the modern world. Happy times! The fest starts tonight so be sure to check the schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n
