As Seen on TV: A Tribute to Doing it Wrong … So Wrong

Getting a single egg in a large pan? Exposing breasts to your boss and making it seem like an accident? Why is everything so freakin’ hard?!

I’ve got a soft spot for bad stuff. The worse, the better. It’s why I pay money for jacked-up action figures. Hell, it’s why I do the Ümlaut. Naturally, when it comes to TV, I cannot escape the gravitational pull of bad commercials. This montage is irresistible. With a great use of The Beatles, too.

Thanks, FangFoundThis!

Awesome: Classic Album Cover Art Extended

It’s like Sleevefacing, but different … Sleevescaping? Sleevemancing?

What happens beyond the borders of classic album cover sleeves? That was the challenge issued by B3TA, to which hundreds replied. Some are pretty damn clever. Check ’em here.

The Pink Floyd Animals cover BoingBoing picked out is my fave. Ace Photoshopping.

Adv: Budweiser’s All Together Now “Lyrics” Spot

This makes me reeeeally miss riding the El down through Chicago. The side-scrolling view between the neighborhoods and buildings, and often in the buildings, beats any subway or BART line. No question.

The Beatles cover is by The Hours. The spot, created by DDB for Budweiser Ireland, is made up of 30 scenes. One for each of the lyrics. There was a blogger outreach that went along with it where Irish bloggers got first peep and were encouraged to respond with their own versions.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes video shot behind the Ogilvy office in Dublin. More info at alltogethernow.ie.

Music: The Hip-Hop Sgt. Pepper’s

beatles_sgtpepper

On this day, May 19 of 1967, the Beatles had a promo listening party for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. So? So what better day to showcase a Pepper’s -related item. On June 1, the actual album’s anniversary? Shut it.

DK Presents … The Hip-Hop Sgt. Pepper’s

Music blogger and friend of the Umlaut, DK Presents … , crafted this incredible work of art a couple years back. It was featured in numerous music mags and blogs across the globe. But it deserves another round of attention.

Is that a mini Hennessey bottle? And is that real weed?
Find out. See the making of.
