I grew up in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, IL; aka The North Shore; aaka the backlot for every John Hughes flick this side of 1980. Ferris, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Uncle Buck … So when I saw this house for sale, I immediately looked for the PayPal button. I mean a 42×35 Family Room? Cozy, but it’ll do.
Go check out the pics and specs. ‘Cuz you know what’ll happen if you don’t. The realtor will keep callin’. Keep callin’. Make you feel guilty. And you’ll say, I’ll go. I’ll go. I’ll go. I’ll go … (Thanks, Jen Small W!)

Yesterday marked the 72nd anniversary of the Hindenburg disaster (May 6, 1937).
January of this year marked the 40th Anniversary of the release of Led Zeppelin I (Jan 12, 1969).
To commemorate this thin connection, I’m posting a rare Zeppelin track from a completely different album, IV. Enjoy.

Remember how Sufjan Stevens was gonna do an album for every state? I think he’s done like two in six years. C’mon man.
Illustrator, writer, and designer, Frank Chimero, has been turning the silhouettes of our 50 states into animals and other stuff for only a year. He’s already done 17. Take that, Sufjan.

Jonathan Ratcliff snapped this pic of San Francisco’s drum-and-guitar duo, The Ferocious Few, down on Powell & Market. What’s rad about them, on top of their raw-ass sound, is that they play all around town. Like, on the street. A lot. Check their MySpace for dates and tunes.

A night of many firsts … My first time at the historic Mystic. My first Devendra show. Plus, a setlist crammed with a ton of songs performed live for the very first time. Including an impromptu first by an audience member.
