MP3: The Top Last Christmas Covers, The Literal Version Video, and Glee

Cover by Jeff Fang

For four years, Last-Christmas.com has collected cover versions of Wham‘s … wait for it … Last Christmas. The site’s as brilliant and wrong as the original song. So to get in the mood for over 418+ takes on George Michael‘s festive opus, here are my picks for the Top 4, naturally:

Sugary, sunny Indie pop straight outta Detroit:
PAS/CAL “Last Christmas”

8-bit ‘n bloopy:
Magnus Djurberg “Last Christmas”

If you don’t have a gramophone to play this through, imagine one:
Das Palast Orchester & Max Raabe “Last Christmas” (English)

The best, saddest-in-a-good-way version yet.
From the Kings of Convenience / Whitest Boy Alive:
Erlend Øye “Last Christmas”

Between his accent and those (almost) high notes, this one’s pure magic:

El Pulpo “Last Christmas”

There’s so much more. Go explore the wonders at Last-Christmas.com.

BONUS: Last Christmas Literal Version Video
(Akmainz left this in the comments at Last Christmas.

This show makes my ears bleed. But in the spirit of giving, here’s the cast of Glee singing Last Christmas.

Christmas MP3s: Banjo or Freakout, Best Coast, Tracy Jordan, Bishop Allen, more

Glee is such a guilty pleasure. I love it. But it’s Jane Lynch that holds it all together. If not for her, the show would be pretty boring.

“I got a new look called Blue Steel!” LOL!!
