So much goodness this week.
Starting off on the perfect summer slo-jam, a fat-syrupy beat from Room E. Then a waltzy, breathy lil’ ditty from LA’s Evan Voytas. A tune from the new Ra Ra Riot you can pre-order now. A live track from Sea Wolf that’s so autumnlike, it’s perfect for these SF summers. Finally, the best band with the best band name of the week, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.. Enjoy thoroughly.

BONÜS:
Heard this live tune by Team B on NYC Taper and am stoked. Made up of members of Beirut, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, they’ve got a wonderful Eastern European vibe (yes, very Beirut-y). The recordings not perfect but it’s enough to keep an ear out for more from the group. Grab the full show.

After some server shizzery, the Ümlaut‘s back. With some-tunes old and some-tunes new …
French duo The Dø (say ‘dough’) finally got their 2008 breakout A Mouthful issued stateside. With the track’s sassy-girl vocals and all its hand-clappery, I dare you not to shimmy. Death Vessel has one of the prettiest female voices I’ve ever heard from a dude. Yes, a dude. And it’s a song from five years ago. So if you haven’t already, seek out more of their tunes. This new Club 8 is almost as afro-infectious as the track posted in Feb. Fellow Swede (by way of Argentina) José González and his on-again off-again trio Junip is offering a free EP just for joining their mailing list. Not bad. The set finishes out with an aching little ditty from Norwegian Ane Brun circa 2002.

Death Vessel “Horchata” from Stay Close
