M. Ward also contributed to another benefit, a triple-disk tribute to Led Zeppelin for First Octave, a group who helps provide the Portland Public School system funds for music. A fantastic cause.
Holy crap! This mashup’s a few years old but the video’s brand new. Together, they’re freakin’ epicly epic.
Mostly Black Sabbath‘s “War Pigs” and Led Zeppelin‘s “Whole Lotta Love”. With some bits of “Communication Breakdown” and “Black Dog” mixed in, too. Super talented work by Wax Audio. (Thanks, Furr!)
Album Tacos? I expected vinyl LPs warmed and folded like tacos. Maybe filled with shredded album covers. Something you might find at Vinyl Frontier. But instead, it’s the majestically taco-fied reinterpretations you see here.
Much like the contents of a Taco Bell taco, you shouldn’t think too hard about it.
After I don’t know how long, the sun is finally out. Here’s some tunes to celebrate. And a couple Elliott Smith tracks for when the clouds inevitably return. On 04.06.10Kill Rock Stars will release remastered versions of Roman Candle and From A Basement On A Hill . (Not sure why … their raw ‘n rough quality is part of their charm, especially Candle.) Enjoy.
So long Noughties. Hello Teenies. Jeez, that sounds crazy. And a little dirty. Either way it’s 2010 and there’s still no rocket cars. Don’t let that bring you down—it’s gonna be a fanfuckingtastic year. And I mean that most sincere. All the best to you and yours!
Bughouse is a California couple that makes functional art like the Zeppelin-ended coffee table above, and even art-art like these Hi-Fi wall pieces. They use everything from photo transfers and vinyl wraps to recreate the look of vintage vinyl and accompanying ephemera. Cool idea. Check out the Bughouse site and see what else they do.
