Spotted these at Whole Foods in Petaluma. Better than my last produce-aisle favorite, “Double D Farm Melons”, which was only funny in name. This has name + design + tagline all in one, forgive me, package. Awesome.
Any idea who designed these?
Or know about the Bigfoot Museum of Cryptozoology Curiosities?

Hopefully he’ll release these fine-bearded fellows as a set.

On our way up Haight to Magnolia we spotted this killer oil painting in a smokeshop window. Floored by the old timey / surreal vibe, I had to hunt down the guy who did it. Virtually, of course. The piece is “Spectacular Beast” by Ian Hill. His site has a few more with this feel, including “Message From The Future” below:

Ever since I discovered Sylvia in Juxtapoz many moons ago, I haven’t got her Por Vida series out of my calaveras. Figured Day Of The Dead was the best day to get it stuck in everyone else’s, too.

“This guy paints himself … No trick photography … No Photoshop … He just paints himself.”

Holy shit.
More amazing pics here. Thanks, Dylan!

Spotted these on Lombard Street right across from the Palace of Fine Arts. One’s labeled “Justice For Oscar Grant“, the victim of that infamous BART Police shooting on New Year’s Day ’09. Get the full story at JusticeForOscarGrant.org.

Jim Hall is a freelance interactive art director with a nice reel, a great landing page, and an even better giant cat sitting on his homepage. Check out Happylander. (Thanks, Diego)

“I like to challenge the automatic way in which we react to external physical appearance by highlighting the often surprising inner beauty of things.”
How does Nick Veasey do it? Industrial X-Ray machines. And sometimes, borrowed corpses.

“Good wholesome reflection”
A new sandwich spot has popped up next to the old Enrico’s in North Beach: Naked Lunch. Resident artist and fav of the Umlaut, Jeremy Fish did their logo. Which is what caught my attention. But one look at the menu and I’m on a mission. Even though I’ve got my fav sando stand, The Sentinel, half a block from my office, this sounds worth the hike up to North Beach. Drool on this:
+ Foie Gras & Duck Prosciutto Sandwich
w/ Heirloom Tomato, Butter Lettuce, White Truffle Oil
+ Salty Dulce de Leche Ice Cream from Flash Freeze
The menu’s limited and things can run out,
so follow their updates on Twitter.

Singapore street artist TR853-1, aka TraseOne, has done everything from neon koi skatedecks to gigantic Nokia headphones. But this series of skaters stenciled cleverly around city walls is just plain rad. (via Wooster Collective)
