Remember Freezy Freakies, or was it Freaky Freezies, the 80’s gloves that changed colors in the snow? I had dragon ones that totally corroded my fingernails. Wonder why they were discontinued.
Coors Light‘s new “cold activated” can applies the same technology (of the non fingernail-warping variety) and changes color when it’s cold enough to drink. Not gimmicky at all. And sooo necessary. Cough. Cough.
Need to chill a beer fast? Follow my instructions …
CHILL OUT WITH THE UMLAUT Cold beer in 3 minutes:
Fill a bowl with water & ice.
Toss in a handful of salt (swirl for the magic).
Submerge your beers for 3 mins. Enjoy.
Or, cold Coors Light in 30 seconds:
Fill a glass with water.
Toss in ice cubes.
Drink.
Rim shot! Check out videos of different beer-chilling experiments at Project Cold. Some are actually scientific. Some are just plain silly.
Nice 3D work. Recognize that song? (via NordfischBaby)
Discovery Channel used a less-cloying version of the Boom De Ya Da / I Love The World song last year and had their show’s personalities chime in, too. The Myth Busters snippet made me smile even more than the big german lug above. Also, the tagline is … wait for it … awesome.
Really diggin’ these. Michael Myers is taking aim on all your least-favorite characters from the most-annoying banner ads on the web. All for the upcoming Halloween II. He’s even popping up in those ads you may actually enjoy. Check ’em out:
Think parents will be able to pry the box from kids’ hands after they see it come to life like this? Pretty damn smart. Full story at JustOOH (via Metaio)
A former Creative Director of mine moved to NYC a few years ago and has been steadily packin’ on the poundage ever since. So to go on a diet he can actually stick to, the man’s gone public. Witness The Twitter Diet. ‘Cuz everyone knows you can ignore yourself. You can’t ignore strangers on the interwebs.
We’re all pullin’ for you down at the factory!
Now put a shirt on fer’chrissakes.
This makes me reeeeally miss riding the El down through Chicago. The side-scrolling view between the neighborhoods and buildings, and often in the buildings, beats any subway or BART line. No question.
The Beatles cover is by The Hours. The spot, created by DDB for Budweiser Ireland, is made up of 30 scenes. One for each of the lyrics. There was a blogger outreach that went along with it where Irish bloggers got first peep and were encouraged to respond with their own versions.
Crazy. On the rare day I wear my Old Style belt buckle (it’s rare enough I even wear pants), Fang posts this sweet site takeover from my hometown-beloved, first-beer ever, Old Style. (Thanks, Jeff!)
HOW TO KRAEUSEN A SITE
Paste this before any website address:
The first couple frames made me angry. The rest made me click. And smile. And click. And click. I guess it just won the Cannes Cyber Lions Gold. Not too shabby.
Agency: Bridge Worldwide, Cincinnati.
(Thanks, MattO and shout-out to Clickity TommyG)
Sweet microsite for the new Volkswagen GTI lets you race with driver’s view in a zippy GTI slot car. Lotsa nice details. Love how after you crash, the lab technician comes over and resets you.
It’s hard to draw a virtual ‘stache in low light. But you get the idea. A nice, deceptively-simple one from McCann NY in support of the One Show Interactive: “Great ideas start and end with a pencil.”
