A lil’ background on Wilco Tango Foxtrot via the Lagunitas website:

“… It was Supposed to Follow the 2009 Correction Ale with the Name ‘2010 Recovery Ale’, but it Doesn’t Look Like We’ll Be There by March. WTF?”

Between all the big-ass IPAs and sweet Belgian Blondes crowding NorCal taps it’s oh so refreshing to mix it up with a nice Brown Ale once in a while. Especially when it’s a big-ass, malty-sweet version from Lagunitas.

Wilco Tango Foxtrot doesn’t disappoint as a self-proclaimed “Malty, Robust, Jobless Recovery Ale.”

WTF pours a ruby, ruddy brown with a thick, frothy head. Beer geeks will know it’s based on similar to their one-off brew Ryan’s Folly; only with less hops on the front end. Instead the flavor is of toasty, crystal malts. Big but balanced. And not too sweet. No, we’re not out of the woods just yet.
