Though it’s missing the slo-mo group dance scene at the end, it’s got so many other Wes Anderson hallmarks, I’m not going to complain. Even if Moonrise Kingdom looks like the apex of self parody, I’ll still see it. Damnit. (via TheMovieBlog)

What’s awesome about these sound snippets, beyond their individual sonic values, is how they conjure up all the visuals and emotions that came with the rest of their respective scenes. (Thanks, Wardinger)

This year there’s 20 breweries (including the new Petaluma brewery HenHouse), four bands (including The Ferocious Few), and tons of circus carnage. It’s all this Sunday at Lagunitas in Petaluma. There’s even a Designated Driver discount.
If five hours of beer, circus and music isn’t enough for you, Sunday is also going to be an Annular Eclipse. So you know things are gonna get trippy. Get tix now at www.LAGUNITAS.com.

No, it’s not Nicolas Cage, but man does this guy have some smooth moves. Stick with it a minute and you’ll see. The actor is Timothy Carey who is, according to his IMBD bio, no stranger to crazed moves. Just look at his profile pic. (Thanks, Mel)

What’s better than the Steve Perry singing along to Don’t Stop Believin’ at a SF Giants game? Not much. But this supercut of the lyrics “sung” through classic movie scenes does give you a decent warm ‘n fuzzy feeling about the song. And the flicks. Even if the herky-jerkiness makes it sound like William Shatner doing celebrity impressions of Journey singer tryouts.

With 53 documentaries packed into 4 days of the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival, there’s a lot of decisions to make. However, The Audio Program is a no brainer. Presented by the production sound legends behind Apocalypse Now, A Bug’s Life, and more, Pat Jackson & Dan Gleich, The Audio Program runs Saturday, March 31. The festival goes from March 29th through April 1st.
This is the first of two trailers Director Beau Bouverat and production co. TINBIKE partnered with ABERCROMBIE+ALCHEMY to create for the SDFF. With delicious sound design by Chris Vibberts‘ Music For Film. See #2 below. See the rest »

This one’s all about execution. And I don’t think Lucas could direct this furry troupe the way the folks at Deutsch did. Maybe that’s why he’s retiring from blockbusters.
Apparently, this is only a teaser for some Game Day celebration tie-in that Volkswagen is sponsoring. There’s even a site where you can get your name (and more?) in a customized Star Wars crawl. Woof. Check it here.

Man, I used to love flipping through my brother’s Beatles LPs and staring at the cover art. Glad Apple let them shine in their own commercial. Also, they’ve made an animated iBook of Yellow Submarine up for free download on iTunes.
