BeerCause: 15,000 Bottle Caps for Africa
Why? To help decorate a library and Internet Learning Center in Loita, Kenya. I know a few of you could drink enough to cover a whole wing in a weekend.
I ran into this guy at The Belgian Room in the Lower East Side last week. He was the first guy I’ve met—in any city—who’s paper cup pleaded for bottle caps instead of cash. It’s all part of a larger effort (see video below), but in short the women of the Maasai tribe, who are known for their intricate bead work, will be using the bottle caps to create designs that will make this new building a piece of cultural art as well as a place of learning. More info.
