We’ll all be drinkin’ out of gold koozies when this stuff comes out…
This May, according to BeerPulse, thee Iron Maiden is releasing a branded beer called Trooper Ale.
“Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.“
While I love the Eddie artwork, I’m partial to the Maiden-inspired beer in the CRAFT BEERDS book; 668 by New England Brewing Company…

The benefit of having an office in your client’s building? If your client is Petaluma‘s Lagunitas, it means having their newest Seasonal, DayTime, fresh off the bottling line. That and killer work. To name a few. Er, a couple. Damn, this is only 4.65% but a few 6-packs sure add up fast. It’s a lil’ piney. A lil’ fruity. And way too easy to knock back. Imagine a lunchtime Sucks you’re not too far off.

For over a year we’ve collected, photographed and laid-out a beautiful book that celebrates all the best craft beer labels with beards, sideburns and moustaches on them—CRAFT BEERDS. Yes, there’s enough to fill a book.
But now the book’s grown to over 175 breweries and almost 300 pages and we need your help in printing the thing. Please share and check out our Kickstarter to lend a hand and get some cool rewards in return.

Woke up quick, at about noon
jus’ thought that I had to be in Compton soon.
I gotta get drunk before the day begins

Just saw this at Brewpublic … A craft beer bar opening in a yet-ungentrified Portland neighborhood may have the very best name/logo in all of Beertopia. N.W.I.P.A. is going to focus solely on—wait for it—I.P.A.s. IPA abundance aside, I do like a good bar with a good theme. Throw in some good tunes and you’ve got a winning combo; like this supercut of every N.W.A. expletive.

This year there’s 20 breweries (including the new Petaluma brewery HenHouse), four bands (including The Ferocious Few), and tons of circus carnage. It’s all this Sunday at Lagunitas in Petaluma. There’s even a Designated Driver discount.
If five hours of beer, circus and music isn’t enough for you, Sunday is also going to be an Annular Eclipse. So you know things are gonna get trippy. Get tix now at www.LAGUNITAS.com.

The third release from San Francisco‘s Almanac Beer Co. , Orange Wit, will be out just in time for SF Beer Week. The brew not only continues their trademark killer design and packaging (dig that gold foil!) but also their fresh, localvore approach to ingredients—with pesticide-free oranges from Hamada Farm in Kingsburg and fresh ginger root from Mellow’s Nursery in Morgan Hill. Unlike the unfortunately-true MMMHop beer from Hanson, this is not an official Hall & Oates brew. But it is real. Holland Oates is an upcoming beer from Baltimore’s Stillwater Artisanal Ales for a collaboration with Dutch brewery Emelisse. Hence the name. With those stereo ‘staches you can count on this label featuring prominently in my forthcoming CRAFT BEERDS book. Stay tuned…

This just might be the last bottle of Sam Adams Utopias in the Yay Area (minus, perhaps, some über-rich beer geek’s cellar). It’s currently waiting at Wilibees Liquors in Petaluma for its bout in Saturday night’s UFC Ultimate Flight Challenge at TAPS.
You’ve got one chance to taste Utopias alongside heavyweights like Speakeasy‘s Brewer’s Reserve Old Godfather (14%) and Firestone‘s Saucerful of Secrets (12%). Call for tickets now or you may miss it …
Yes, craft beer is an art to itself. But when you mix craft beer with the art of artists, well, you’ve got The Beer Show. This group exhibit includes drawings, glass art, clothing, jewelery and crafts all made from or inspired by beer, bottle caps and coasters.
