Yes, it’s real. And it’s spectacular. You take an ampm Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant and switch out the croissant with glazed doughnuts. It’s all part of the new Secret Menu campaign our team at Ogilvy just launched. Pretty much a big invitation to come up with your own creations and try something new. Go nuts.
Who (else) knew lava rocks had such magical powers?
Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Craft Ales, that’s who.
Apparently the ancient beer masters would use 1000 degree lava rocks to make beer. To resurrect this ancient art, called Stein Brewing, Sixpoint partnered with The Museum of Modern Art‘s adjoining restaurant The Modern. Then they got Aaron Ekroth to help tell the story. Beautifully, may I add.
There’s nothing sexier than a glowing girl contorting with a double-chinned dude in his Tron Underoos … actually, everything’s sexier than this. But it’s my job to share it with you.
“Shot with a RED camera, After Effects, a Mac, and a couple crappy bicycle helmets.”

Probably the most amazing series of commercials with the most amazing jingle in the world. Ever. There’s so much wrong. And so much right.
Even more amazing? When we stayed with my Sister In-Law in LA, her boyfriend Matt actually had a bottle of the stuff. It’s even got the jingle around the cap.
Now that’s a jingle, folks. If its melancholic nostalgia isn’t stuck in your head now, watch the rest of the series …
You won’t catch Jason Bateman pulling off any of these moves.

Diameter of Mallakhamb Pole: 55 cm at base, 35 cm at top
This Mallakhamb (‘Malla‘ means gymnast, and ‘khamb‘ means poles) vid has been flying around as much as the gymnasts themselves. With good reason. It’s crazy impressive. Though the flesh-colored pole is a little unsettling. Just sayin’. (Thanks, Mel!)

Diameter of Stripper Pole: 5 cm average
They’re not strippers, they’re dancers acrobats, damnit.
While the girls win in the uniform department and degree of difficulty vs. size of pole, the Mallakhamb dudes win for their bizarrely mesmerizing, complex, and just plain odd See the rest »
As if stock footage isn’t creepy enough (B Roll‘s another story, however).
Director Carl Burgess scrubbed the Getty Images archives for tons of choice stock footage for Ratatat‘s new video, Drugs. But couldn’t just leave their natural creepiness alone. Oh no. (Thanks, Mike!)
After seeing The Black Hole artwork in the Tron Comic-Con trailer I couldn’t help but pull this up …
I remember watching this as a kid in the Boulder City Theater (just outside Vegas), the same theater my great-grandfather helped build and later died in. No, not drawing any Flynn / Arcade connections. Just random backstory.
Anyway, the cameo’s no coincidence. Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski is signed on to remake The Black Hole. Why, I don’t know.
