Jack is one busy, bearded guy. We met up in NYC this summer where he was hard at work promoting the competitive beard-growing reality show, Whisker Wars. Then he was off to Pennsylvania to host the National Beard and Moustache Championship. All the while being featured in a Jeremy Fish art piece and in a beauty of a short film, Passion. See them both below.

As an Internet Lawyer, Kent Wesley has sued the pants of many a pants wearer.
You can watch these spots and get your Arrested Development fix (or Old Spice, depending on how you look at it) or if you’re really feelin’ motivated you can go to You’ve Got a Case on Facebook where he’ll “serve” your friends and family. (Thanks, Ty)
This Star Wars x The Grinch Who Stole Christmas mashup brings all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile. Well done OneMinuteGalactica. (Thanks, Cheri!)
Lagunitas has been selling these badass Butterfly Bottle Openers for a while. So we helped them create these videos to teach you how to wield the things without spillin’ your beer (or makin’ a fool of yourself). Look for more very soon.
Really proud to have worked on such an important cause as The Meth Project with the team at Organic SF. And so fortunate to have had the phenomenal talent, Darren Aronofsky actually direct spots I’ve written. Still cannot believe it.
Remember the epic Firecoat video? Well, the latest from YDGN Productions has arrived just in time for Halloween. Behold Taxidermied Alive by the most awesomely, awkwardly-named band ever: Barfth.
Just a warning and a reminder: the song is called Taxidermied Alive. So know your limits before going in to this one.
Any SF ad nerd can tell you how important Howard Gossage was to the local ad scene and the industry at large. Probably they can even point to The Book of Gossage on their bookshelf. But documentarian/Director Ashley Pollak drops a few choice tibits that’ll make you realize just how important he was to the whole world…
“Gossage had managed to save the Grand Canyon from being flooded for profit, helped establish Friends of the Earth, discovered Marshal McLuhan – an obscure Canadian academic who thought up the Internet – and inadvertently caused the military invasion of a small Caribbean island.”
This trailer—at seven minutes—is a MiniDoc in and of itself. Which only makes me more excited to see the full flick. And hearing that Gossage‘s daughter, Sarah, is the Executive Producer doesn’t hurt things either. (via SFE and AdRants)
I love how you can see the edge of the 16mm film flashing by.
Just dreamy.
Though I’ve been in SF for well over a decade, I lived in Vegas for years and would go there every summer while growing up in Chicago. To say I have a soft spot for the “old” Vegas would be like saying I just sorta-kinda like beer.
The best part is, this is not a hack. It’s a new toy. And it’s going on my Christmas list.
I mean, my sons‘ Christmas list.
To go with the built-in camera is a built-in, tiny LCD. They also give you a mount so you can use the car as a regular ‘ol video camera. All for about $60. Seems like the kids who grew up playing with Hot Wheels and computers are growing up and putting that creativity back into the toys. Wonder what else is revvin’ in their skunkworks. (via LS)
No word on the official soundtrack but this Radical Face tune, used in a Nikon spot in the past, suits this teaser like a custom score. Currently titled The Goodwin Project, the movie is literally an adventure in the making which follows the Goodwin family—surfers Aamion and Daisy, with their two children in tow—around the world. One of my friends is on the crew documenting their travels and it sounds pretty damn interesting. See where they’re at now at The Goodwin Project.
